Feeling very proud to tell about the Best Boxer award which is going to be presented to our nation young boxing talent Vikas Krishan from Haryana. Vikas Krishan is a 2 time Olympic participant and now he will be presented with the award of BEST BOXER in the world by International Boxing Association.

In recognition of your achievements throughout the year, AIBA would like to use the occasion to present you with the 2016 AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) Best Boxer award,” re byad a letter written to Vikas Krishan by AIBA President.

Vikas Yadav is currently working very hard on improving his a little poor defensive skills which will help him perform in the next year upcoming season and he is practicing very hard in United States of America these days on his skills.

Vikas krishan said to PTI on phone that the one thing he is missing is that Olympic medal. As he had trained a lot to get an RIO Olympic medal for his country but failed to do so that disappointment still he cant’t forget and making himself stronger and better boxer day by day by improving his skills and training like a pro in America.

Viaks said: It is a huge honour but I am not particularly happy because I have already missed what I really wanted this year and that is an Olympic medal”.

Vikas Krishan is a gold medalist at the 2010 Asian Games and lost in the quarter-finals at the 2016 Rio Olympics. “I have decided to set small goals for myself. So right now I am focussing on the World Championships next year. Tokyo Olympics is far off and by that time I intend to have a flawless game. I am training like a professional boxer so that I master the art of defence,” Krishan mentioned.

I want to build a momentum which carries me through. In 2019 when the Olympic qualifiers start, I want to be the first Indian boxer to qualify so that I get enough time to plan. I qualified too late for Rio, just a couple of months before the Games. I don’t want that to happen again,” he said.

“I don’t want to leave it to the last moment,” he added.

Vikas is currently competing in the middleweight category , the same category where Vijender Singh won an Olympic bronze medal in the 2008 Olympics. As of September 25, 2015, Vikas is ranked 4th overall.

Vikas Krishan has also received Arjuna Award for boxing from govt. of india as well.
